Retailer: A
long time customer of One More Cast, Joseph jumped at the chance to
purchase the Shop when the owner retired. He took ownership of
the shop that horrible day in September when planes flew into two towers in
New York.
Fly Tyer:
A commercial fly tyer, he ties over 600 dozen flies annually.
Special orders are welcome.

Educator: More than a retailer, Joseph is a fly fishing
educator giving many casting and tying clinics each year.
He is a member of and demonstration tyer for the Northern Illinois Fly Tyers and
Chicago Fly Fishers and is a member of Trout Unlimited and the
Federation of Fly Fishers.

He has taught for both the Boy Scouts and
Girl Scouts of America and Becoming an Outdoors Woman. A former
instructor with the Orvis corporation, he is now a
Certified Casting Instructor with the Federation of Fly Fishers. He
offers casting clinics and lessons on an individual basis.
He teaches several Trout Schools each year in Wisconsin.

He donates
his time teaching Fly Fishing to Reeling and Healing Midwest, a group that holds
retreats for women with or recovering from life-threatening cancer
as well as Reel Recovery, a group that works with men with or
recovering from life-threatening cancer.
Print Media: Joseph is an author
whose writings have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, American
Angler, Far & Away, True North Trout, Yale Anglers' Journal, and
Hatches magazine as well as having some his short stories published
in Looking Over the Bridge Rail; many of those stories appear
in this website:
Here He
appears as a guest columnist for the Outdoor Notebook and Angling Trade,
an industry publication. His newest story I Now Teach With Ease
appears in Volume X Number 2 of Yale Anglers' Journal; his
second story accepted by this publication. His story, They Hate Your Spy-Duh
appears in the May 2009 issue of Gray's Sporting Journal.
Electronic Media:
Joseph has appeared live on many radio and television programs.
There is a poorly produced but fun video
Here.
On
occasion, Joseph guest hosts
The Outdoor Notebook Radio program, the longest
continuously running outdoor program in the Chicago area.

Culinary Arts: A former Executive Chef,
Joseph will offer another series of Coulee
Cooking Schools in Viroqua, Wisconsin for 2010 that showcase the area’s
bounty using in-season foods grown locally then cooked simply
(advocates are known as “locavores”). Meyer will lead students on a
morning excursion to the Viroqua Farmer’s Market, cheese shop and
the local Vernon Vineyards winery for a tasting of locally produced
wines.
