One More Cast's on-the-water schools present the opportunity for students to learn while they are fishing. Instructors teach and then observe students actually fishing. These schools teach how to read water, presentation techniques such as drifting, rod handling, casting skills and pattern selection. Schools are taught by professional guides and school associates and allow students to learn school topics as well as any other topics important to their success. School size is limited to insure all students receive adequate attention and have a good chance of being successful.
Schools change locations from year to year to take advantage of the best fishing conditions. One More Cast's schools are normally two days in duration and are conducted Saturday and Sunday with some schools Friday through Sunday. Students have the responsibility for transportation, breakfasts, dinners and their own fly fishing equipment.
Bring your gear by the shop and we'll give you a quick analysis and go over all
of your connections so there will be no wasted time.
2008
ON -THE -WATER SCHOOLS
We will have two more ON -THE -WATER SCHOOLS
for 2008. Both Schools will be held on the Big Green River near
Fennimore, Wisconsin. These schools are an excellent opportunity
to develop your small stream fly fishing skills.
Basic Fly casting skills that include a 25
foot Pick-Up-and-Lay-down cast and a basic Roll Cast are a must for
these Schools as we will be spending the bulk of our instructional
time developing better fly on the water skills. You will learn far
more than just the basics of fly-fishing, you will learn more about
where trout live, what they eat and how to find them. The
focus of all of our Schools is to make you a self-sufficient fly
fisher on any stream on the planet.
If you feel you would benefit from a Casting lesson before the
Schools dates, don't hesitate to call me.
Curriculum will include the following:
Reading the water, Improved small stream casting and mending skills, Insect
identification as it relates to fly selection, knots and leader
construction. We will also work on several fly on the water skills
as they relate to a drag-free drift.
