Every Thursday
Night during the tying season we offer a FREE Jam Session from 7-9 p.m.
here at the Shop. When is the tying season? Oh, sometime in October
until sometime in April, depends on the weather and the available
fishing; we’re pretty loose about the time frame.
Our Featured Tyer sits in the Bucket and demonstrates a fly they
like, and then we all do a tie-along. In the past, we have had
everything from size 22 dry flies for Trout up to 6/0 Musky flies.
I will try to post the current week's fly on a timely basis and if
it is a fly that you want to learn to tie, drop in! The Featured Tyer provides the
materials; you provide the tools and thread.
Have a Killer Pattern
that you would want to teach? Contact me and we'll get you on
the schedule as the Featured Tyer.
These are fun Sessions;
we have a low tolerance for Bassholes.
Come early, some folks drop in around 6 head over for a sandwich and
are back in the tying room ready to tie at 7, others show up
right at 7. Bring your vise, tools
and a good attitude and be ready to have a good time.
Not yet a tyer? Feel free to drop in and observe; you might
walk out a tyer!
There is always a beverage or two in the fridge and the coffee pot
is always on.
Because I am now
often out of town on Thursdays and my tyers have headed out to fish,
our Thursday night Jams will be on hiatus until October.
