Argentine Adventure 2009

One More Cast Fly Shop is hosting the Sixth Annual Argentine Adventure scheduled for Feb 26.-Mar 7, 2009. This is the end of the Argentine summer and the conditions are quite comfortable. We have carefully planned this trip to be an all-inclusive trout fishing trip of a lifetime and there are two weeks to choose from.

How good is the fishing?  At least one person in our group landed Rainbows over 20 inches each day we were there.  My first day I took 20 Rainbows, 6 of which were 20 inches or more, with my three weight, all on dry flies.

The fee includes all airfare from Buenos Aries, ground transfers (of which there are several), all lodging, all meals with beer and excellent Argentine wine with meals and the full time use of English speaking guides.

The only items not included are Airfare to Buenos Aries, guide and ground transportation gratuities, airport taxes and alcoholic beverages other than meal times.  I strongly encourage you to check that your passport is up to date and you might want to check with your own insurance policy with regard to medical coverage in case of illness.

As in the past, we will be using Southern Cross Outfitters and we will fish the beautiful San Martin/Junin de los Andes area of Patagonia on the Alumine, Chimehuin, Collon-Cura, Malleo, Quillen or Quilquillhue Rivers, both wade and float.  This gives us a range of big water, wading pocket water and medium sized rivers with long slow pools. Normal trout gear is sufficient; a longer 4 or 5 weight for dries and nymphs is perfect with a 7 weight nice to have for streamers in the wind.

The Cabana sleeps eight comfortably, the meals are family-style and excellent, the Argentine wines drew raves from our group each year, the guides are quite knowledgeable and the fishing for Browns, Rainbows and an occasional Perca is terrific.

I urge you to join me either week for this wonderful adventure. Come fish these awesome rivers with me.  The end of the Argentine summer is beautiful, the dry fly fishing is spectacular, the waters are never crowded, and we will probably be the only anglers on these waters as we rarely see another group. I am taking only seven anglers each week as the Cabana sleeps eight.

The total cost for the Argentine Adventure 2009 is $3495.00  based on double occupancy.  A fifty percent deposit no later than June 1st, 2008 secures your spot with the balance due December 1st, 2008.

Again, this fee covers everything after you get to B.A., domestic airfare, ground transfers (of which there are several), All lodging, including the overnight in Buenos Aries, All meals and beer & Argentine wine with meals, the dinner and Tango show in B. A. and the use of full time, English speaking guides. I can arrange air to B.A. if you wish and you may want to stay in B.A. after the fishing week.

The only expenses not covered are air to B.A., guide and ground transfer gratuities, airport taxes and alcoholic beverages other than meal times.  Pick a week and call me for more information, 708.482.4990.
